The University of Alabama awarded approximately 1,300 degrees during summer commencement Aug. 5. More than 100 Knox College student-athletes were named to the Midwest Conference's Academic All-Conference list for the 2016-17 academic year and athletic season. The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33, which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award. Several of the honorees were recognized for the academic achievements while playing more than one sport.

The Great Lakes Career Ready Internship Program at Carthage creates paid internship experiences for junior and senior students. Thanks to the generosity of the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation, a total of 198 students over three years will be able to earn $12 per hour for unpaid internships

The Presidential Scholarship is open to all majors and awards 35 scholarships ranging from 75% tuition to full tuition, room and board. During the campus visit, prospective Presidential Scholars will have a conversation with two faculty/staff members and/or complete an essay.

A record number of more than 420 Walsh volunteers commemorated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Monday, January 18, with a day of service. This year, Walsh volunteers, including students, athletic teams, faculty and staff members, partnered with 20 community organizations to address topics that ranged from education, homelessness, wildlife conservation and hunger. Financial support was provided from the Corporation for National & Community Service, ServeOhio, Campus Compact and Lowe's of Massillon.
Nearly 600 high school seniors competed in Augustana College's annual Scholarship Competition on January 17, 2015. Students competed for $4,000 scholarships awarded by each academic department at Augustana. Winners of the scholarships will be notified by March 1, 2015.
